On Tuesday evening I and my friend Richard spent a lovely few hours wandering round the city looking for evidence of Nottingham’s caves, and other historical, archaeological and architectural curiosities. We started around 6 at the Ropewalk, and toured the locations of the Heritage Tunnel, Thomas Herbert caves, Castle and Castle Rock caves, Bridlesmith Gate caves, Cliff Road/Loggerheads, and several other places. We both took lots of pictures but due to my not recharging the battery my camera ran out of juice towards the end. 😦
I have uploaded all the relevant pics to Photobucket, and 6 of the best to the caves album on the Social Activities group, which this whole caves visit project is for. And given a report on the relevant message board thread. I’ve also worked out something of a visit schedule over several months. I will start a section of this site for this project, so it has a single central home.
